VolunteersVolunteers are the back bone of our program. Each student generally will need 3 people in addition to the certified North American Riding Handicapped Association (NARHA) instructor. There will be a horse leader and two side walkers assisting each student. Volunteers must be 14 years of age and be trained by our staff. We follow the NARHA model and the principles of Natural Horsemanship to train our volunteers. Willing people of all ages and abilities are needed to assist with administration, fund raising, public relations as well as with horses and students. We appreciate everyone's strengths. What we know is "working together works". We are committed to our students, volunteers, horses and ourselves being positive, progressive and natural in all that we do. All volunteers must attend a new volunteer orientation meeting. Training is available in horsemanship, CPR, equine assisted learning and other specialized areas.
